“Supreme Court says Voting Rights Act of 1965 is no longer relevant!”

When DNC reports evidence to the FBI, of Bugging in their DC office, is our 2016 presidential election being rigged by Trump, invaded by Russians, Watergated by a politicized FBI – or is it simply the natural fallout voted for by Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr leading a 5-4 supreme fantasy that the Voting Rights Act of 1965 has out lived its balance of power of, by and for the people.

No matter the Early Voting, the over polled or the media trumped, our 2016 election season is too close to call anything but, a killing season for our pillars of civility and unity.  This justifies the fear of our Founding Fathers that their exceptional idea couldn’t survive without a collegiate prophylactic to protect the masses who just can’t handle the truth, from the extremism of mobs ruled by despots, demagogues and those seeking revitalized TV careers.

Nonetheless, regardless of our political leanings, if protest voters allow Trumpland to secure a White House beachhead in what was for one brief shining moment, The Land of the Free, and non-voters fail to comprehend, not voting, is a resounding vote, we will have allowed arrogance and apathy to parent, and bequeath to our children, the worst of neo-cons.

It’s better for Americans when our elections are motivated by facts grounded in truth, rather than an imagined past that was never our national path to glory.  2016 isn’t about Clinton vs. Trump, or even Right Wing extremism gasping to breathe life back into Grover Norquist’s desire to drown our Gettysburg Address in his narrow ring around the tub.

America’s greatness comes from its faith in all Americans — there but for the grace of God and the Thanksgiving generosity of Native Americans, we couldn’t overcome the human flaw of derisive division – without letting freedom ring.  We can either re-learn how to listen to each other to be stronger together, or choose to ignore America to death.

Like the Revolutionary & Civil Wars, Our Revolution is not about one person, not even one as honorable as Senator Bernie Sanders.  The revolutionary lesson from both Sanders and Trump is not Jefferson’s, but that both the far Left and Right want to drain the swamp of our financially compromised grid-locked Washington and voter intimidation State governments.

The difference is, Sanders supporters, realizing Congress is only the go-between Hydra for the underworld of Wall Street overlords, don’t want to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

At least since November 22, 1963, our natural national evolution has been racing with the Conservative reaction to it — and now it’s closing the gap, but some of us just can’t imagine the rainbow.

As nation and people, we are at a cultural, political and gender equality crossroads.  Either we progress forward with all-inclusive solutions, or simultaneously, take hard Left and Right turns, refusing to watch each other’s six.  However, there is no reversing, for the great inner peace we seek isn’t behind us.

Everyone makes some bad choices in life, but few as bad as resisting inevitable change, GOP Congressional obstructionism and Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr who, ignoring Citizens United, insisted that we have nothing to fear in our electoral process.  Yet, allegedly, some FBI agents have decided we are a nation of people who talk the patriotic talk, without walking the constitutional walk, they’ve sworn to preserve, protect and defend.

Exceptionalism is, American elections are to be left in the hands, hearts and minds of We the People, of every hue, colorful language, political bias, and sexual drinking end of the day partner – not Koch Red Mapping, hacking by Trump’s Russian buddies or FBI llegalscreating an America for which hypocrisy is a given.

The question for each of us Tuesday November 8, 2016 is, are we voting to save some portion of an American Dream in tatters from domestic terrorists or to relegate America to an underground railroad, stealing away from itself?

In The Good Ol’ Days Before Hillary’s Email

The terrorists against Democracy’s Liberty and Justice for All, aren’t ignoring the writing on the wall, they’ve just been quietly switching walls:  from coal ash mountain topping to falling oil prices – Fracking water to cracking gas pipelines – Ramrodding Dakota protestors to Corporate Private Prison collaborations – the ALEC cheese stands alone – almost.

Perhaps numbed by Law & Order Nixon, War on Drugs Reagan, Tough on Crime Bush Sr, Three Strikes & You’re Out Clinton – we’ve evolved to the lawlessness and disorder of political rallies inciting violence against, differences of opinion.

Truth is, we’re in a time warped by Jim Crow reruns!  Super Predators, don’t dwell in a trumped Ghetto, but are Money Changers bankrupting our future, while undecided pendulums reactively swing, rather than voting for choice.

Wells Fargo, militarized police, wars on women, Native Americans and LGBTQ are individual choices.  No one has to be a Conservative Woman for a misogynistic president.  We can choose to shine our Rockets’ Red Glare to save the abused spouse, raped neighbor, kidnapped child and The Missing Missing.

Conservatives simultaneously running from & with an ALEC, transitionally choosing to minimalize expenses incurred, rooming and boarding up minorities, and taking its show on the road with GPS monitoring anklets.

So, believing Corporate Media deflecting hasn’t infected Social Media anonymity, we get bought and sold, unaware we’ve been flogged into isolationism.  If Baby-Boomers embrace Generation X texting to Millennials on Instagram, we might Hold the Line November 8, 2016.

Just imagine Baby-Boomers and Millennials centered by Generation X!  What couldn’t we do to end the herding of our better selves, by Alt-Right Trolls self-perpetuating a distorted nightmare of our American Dream with do-over paleface extremes?

Whether United We Stand or Stronger Together, America is at its greatest when Americans stand together for community – committed to neighborhoods of every color and a multi-cultural world determined to save the earth and all life upon it.

The better choice:  showing up decisively for harmony dissolving derision, knowing, there is no security, independence nor greatness in divorcing The Good Fight, reneging on the promise of Lady Liberty or pretending our individual lives are the only life experience for all of We the People.  We don’t have to submit to the inheritance from those who tarnish the very ideal of Exceptionalism – being special, not superior.

Our real power on earth is gathering together for peace and harmony, regardless of skin color, heritage, gender, sexual preference or political persuasion.  However, truth can dissipate in the creation of discriminatory labels that taint all of us with lies of convenience, told by the few, but once accepted, redefining the core of too many.

Painful truth:  our Constitution allows slavery in the form of mass incarceration, gender inequality and the income disparity of prison labor on the public tab benefitting private enterprise.

Unlike 1930’s Europe, we needn’t goose step behind the loudest and latest voices.  We have the power to make candidates follow our lead, for what the elected crave, even more than Supremes guaranteeing, Citizens United — is our vote.

Imagine escaping bottom line marketing labels, Factory Farms and Lee Atwater’s campaign code words cueing conservatives for Nixon & Reagan racial discrimination, Clinton’s Swat police forces, Bush/Cheney Black Sites, and Guantanamo torturing our souls into GOP’s birther Tea Party bigots, and their Don.

Russian hackers, computer technology and greed are not waiting — only transitioning, while we’re still arguing over emails and which came first, trumped conservative chickens or the egg laid by the FBI.

We can make prisons, to go, with Jerry Watson’s American Bail Coalition and Block the Vote with Paul Weyrich — going Right back to the Good Ol’ Days of Donald Trump – or we can vote:  Out of Many, One.

The truth that sets us free, stings:  Not all of us want equality and justice for all, but Lincoln’s new birth of freedom affirms, voting of, by and for all the people, is both individual privilege and national responsibility – if we can keep it.

Nasty Woman – Bad Hombres – Gettysburg

Too often, since Lincoln’s Gettysburg address extended our Declaration of Independence, healing a nation with the unity of emancipation, and conservative arrogance denied progressive scientific invention to save President James Garfield –greatness and Exceptionalism are roads not taken by Republican leadership — and, arguably, Teddy Roosevelt’s protecting the environment, while his Square Deal busted the vampires of corporate Trusts, was the last time Republicans put American progress, first.

America’s greatness is inconsistent victories, mingled with defeats.  Throughout our national journey we’ve been spirited by the guidance of nasty women, bad hombres and sometimes being, just plain lucky.

So, in 2016, shall we gather at the trough of bigots, braggarts and bullies and vote to profit the unseen puppeteers of the under-informed, choosing rupture while claiming rapture?

Will we succumb to the rigged performance of a GOP ego inflated puppet, into a house divided Middle Class?  deny the Food Desert less fortunate, nutrition?  trade in our souls after reneging on our stewardship of earth and all life upon it?  or simply group our way forward to prove we’ve still got it?

People who ignore flashing red school bus lights, cheat on their taxes, use K Street bagmen to rent politicians or dupe the gullible with phony higher education institutions — generally enable a society none of us deserve.

Honestly, hasn’t America’s better half been forced repeatedly, to endure a corporate ladder replete with the mind-set of a mythical locker-room?

Aren’t Native Americans and many people of color still expected to bear the brunt of rigid Conservatism propagated on both Wall and Main Streets – with Fracking, Voter ID laws and inadequate schools perpetuating an inequitable future?

Perhaps on Tuesday November 8, 2016 most of us will find the crumbs left behind for our return to civility and unity — for as a people, most Americans remain, Good Samaritans.

But what about the residents at The Villages who, in 2012, cheered Paul Ryan — with his mother a prop at his side — when he assured them their Social Security and Medicare would be spared, at the expense of future generations.  Presumably, filled with the Me First survival instincts of a J. Bruce Ismay, The Villages’ residents overlooked — the next generations are their children and grandchildren.

After 2000 infighting between U. S. and Florida Supreme Courts, wouldn’t it be imprudent in an age of:  Citizens United financial stimulus, Senate refusal to confirm Merrick Garland, successful Russian hacks aided and abetted by Assange’s WikiLeaks and perhaps a naive loose lips sink ships Edward Snowden — with devices of every screen size paused over huge swaths of the United States, and pleas from a presidential nominee for international intervention in our electoral process – to further delay admitting the real possibility of a trumped rig, bankrupting democratic thought, in our American Republic?

Arguably, our greatest obstacle to greatness in 2016, is our failure to accept that Donald Trump didn’t come out of thin air.  He’s simply the unvarnished malignancy that has been systemic of Conservative State and Federal leadership since Richard Nixon, Trickle Down Economics, The Tea Party and Dick Cheney’s “so.”

We live in an age of gigantic mergers, diminishing glaziers, shifting weather extremes and increasingly powerful computer technology that can snatch paperless ballots out of the heavens and toss them into the hell of low voter turnout, hyped media bias and the stuff of Koch heads misinformation snuff.

So, if we are to maintain the best that is in us, we may need to re-evaluate the fear, anger, hate and yes, ignorance that has tampered with and tempered our tempo — though not yet terminating it, with violence, malice-aforethought and the lies we tell ourselves.

Choices: Trump – Johnson – Stein – Clinton

Perhaps Saturday Night Live returns just in time to remind us, you really can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time – and just like that, 2016 elections aren’t funny anymore.

Soulmate, my aging cat, born on the streets, with a bad liver, a bad leg and now kidney issues, reminds me, like a Sons of Bill lyric, for some of the people some of the time, existence has been, dragging your life across the sands of time – from Food Desert to College Loan Debt — whether individual or nation, from dinner wine to morning after joe, The Twilight looks a whole lot like the Dawn.

It’s not how little Trump, Stumpf, Romney and Koch brothers pay in taxes.  It’s the lawmakers we elected allowing this systemic imbalance to increase and multiply in all areas of American life.

Let’s reassert, we hold these truths to be self-evident, and reconnect to an all-inclusive oasis, where no matter how many, he speaks his mind, excuses, or clueless about Aleppo and foreign leaders or even sincerity regarding democracy – most still gravitate to the center of reason.

Casting our precious privilege in a way that enables the election of a dangerous thin-skinned angry old snake oil salesman, neither preserves, protects nor defends democracy or the American Democratic Republic.  Such a hard right turn, turns us back to a Supreme Court failing to embrace, counting all American votes as the constitutional way forward.

In the wake of Bush v. Gore, America has been Shock and Awed into

  • Preemptive strikes against a country that had nothing to do with 9/11
  • Perpetual war creating ISIS (Al Qaeda on steroids)
  • Global financial instability
  • Worst national unemployment since The Great Depression
  • The Great Recession

2016 gives us an opportunity to help America think again by voting to prevent fears, frustration and anger from transferring our belief in each other, to faith in GOP hypocrisy, Gary Johnson ignorance and a Machiavellian Trump.

Only rarely in America has it been acceptable, to give belligerency, misogyny and bigotry a free pass, but now that Trump is no longer a reality sideshow, but mob pleasing improvisation staged as semi-scripted nominee of the ultra-Conservative Right Wing, that rarity has exposed its fangs once again.

As an ardent Sanders supporter, I understand crushed dreamers and frustrated activists, but joining the deserting non-voters or giving into hopelessness that denies America mature, rational pragmatic voting booth judgement gives neo-cons the legitimacy they crave.

As citizens, it is up to us to vote to imprint the U. S. Supreme Court and impact the U. S. Congress.  Hold the feet of Democrats to the fire, insisting on, an Attorney General Bernie Sanders, an Elizabeth Warren heading SEC, a Supreme Court Justice Barack Obama, a Treasury Secretary Melinda Gates — all while keeping James Comey as FBI Director to keep the next President Clinton on the straight and narrow.

We and the world we live in, deserve candidates who can name, and work with, other world leaders – not a Trump nor a Libertarian Party insisting that all must lift themselves up by their bootstraps, ignoring, some have neither boots nor homes.

It is for us rather, to help protect all of the people all of the time from the bullies of the world, whether on Main or Wall Street; in Congress or uniform; Olympian doctors or a candidate’s Russian hacker hero.

Remember, We’re all going to die no matter what the plastic surgeon told you, so let us focus our collective attention, energy, money and votes on eradicating all forms of bullying:  Sexual Harassment, Spousal & Child Abuse, Bigotry, sexual & gender oppression, income disparity, military & campus rape, remembering…

America is the choices we make:  Choose saving us from Alzheimer’s Disease and Climate Change – or live, trying.
